Hannah Alarian’s research focuses on the comparative politics of belonging. It specifically addresses topics of citizenship, immigrant incorporation, prejudice, and far-right politics in democracies globally, with a primary focus on those in West and Central Europe. Much of her work considers the processes through which immigrants are included in and excluded from their new societies including in policy and public opinion. Her research appears in the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies, among others.
