Treethep (Pepe) Srisa-nga is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida. He holds an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida and a BA in Spanish from Chulalongkorn University, and previously worked as a journalist in Bangkok. His dissertation investigates when and how opposition populist challengers influence the trajectories of competitive authoritarian regimes, drawing on cases from Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Argentina, and Peru. He is also the co-author of Global Populisms (Routledge, 2021) with Carlos de la Torre.
