Soumik Sengupta is a doctoral student in Political Science at the University of Florida. His broad research interests include migration governance, immigrant political incorporation, and citizenship, with a regional emphasis on Southern Europe. He previously studied Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, and Mobility Studies at the University of Padova in Italy, and was a fellow at the University of Hyderabad. Prior to beginning his PhD, he lived in India, Italy, Spain, Germany, and the Republic of Korea for academic and professional work.
