Jain Choi is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida, specializing in International Relations and Political Methodology. My research develops and applies quantitative methods to study the behavior of individuals, groups, and states. Methodologically, she employs survey experiments for causal inference, Bayesian modeling, and computational techniques such as text analysis and machine learning. Substantively, my work lies at the intersection of international security and political psychology, examining attitudes toward marginalized communities—including immigrants, North Korean defectors in South Korea, and sexual minorities—and how these attitudes evolve in response to experiences of suffering.
