Michael J. Scicchitano is an associate professor of political science and the director of the Masters Program in Public Affairs. Dr. Scicchitano earned a BA in political science and masters in public administration from Pennsylvania State University. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Georgia. He has been on the faculty at West Virginia University, the University of Connecticut and the University of Florida. In addition, he is director of theFlorida Survey Research Center (FSRC) at the University of Florida. As Director of the FSRC he has implemented hundreds of survey research and program evaluation projects. He is also editor of State and Local Government Review, which is the official journal for American Society for Public Administration’s section on intergovernmental management. His research on issues related to public policy and public affairs has been published in Journal of Politics,Publius, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Policy Studies Journal, Administration and Society, Social Science Quarterly, Western Political Quarterly and many others. He has taught courses on public budgeting, computer applications, program evaluation and public policy and administration to graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Florida.
