Undergraduate student Rachel McGovern (pictured with alumna Debbie Wasserman Schultz) writes:
This past summer I interned in the Office of the Chair at the Democratic National Committee. I spent ten weeks in Washington, D.C. assisting the Chair’s Office with a variety of administrative tasks. I also had the opportunity to interact with various members of Congress and network with other interns from various offices across Washington, D.C.
Being a UF student and a member of the Political Science department aided me greatly in my efforts. Of the almost 30 interns at the DNC, three had ties to UF, which was the greatest school representation. I was proud to work in the office of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, an alumna of the University of Florida’s political science department.
